Many thanks to Hayden, Gavin, Scotty and the others who helped run the event. It ran very smoothly. Probably the most unique open bank of tournament machines I've played so far (HUO Capt Fantastic? Banzai Run? Flash Gordon with no outlane posts!) and they all held up throughout the entire day. I actually really dug the lack of DMD's. When something small went wrong, it was fixed usually within minutes. The only thing that *seemed* a little detrimental to the event was the fact that the massive street fair/party was happening the whole time right outside. Seemed like crowd issues would pull people away from running the tournament from time to time, and I can imagine that only added chaos/stress to any already stressful day. Maybe enough new players participated, because they were already at the event that it was worth it . . . and maybe I was just to hot.
The Eugene players definitely brought some competition. The extremely aggro drunk ones also lent a certain flavor

And yes I'll admit it, they out-drank/loudmouthed CFF without question. Videomodes voice was pretty low/gravelly by the end of the night though.
Nate had some concerns about the players who qualified for the novice playoff having higher scores knocking down open players scores. I sorta understand, but at the same time, the *only* thing benefiting them as novice was the ability to playoff for the zizzle machine. If there was no novice/zizzle machine, those players *probably* still would have played and put up the same scores . . . netting the same results.
We all had a blast - you guys should pat yourselves on the shoulder. We'll be there for the next big one - block party or no!
